At this time, all ECVBA practices, tournament and events are not being canceled. Please understand this situation is very fluid. Per the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the current risk assessment at this time is considered low. All our information sources will come from local health department officials and the CDC.

Below is a list of information regarding general COVID-19 facts, prevention tips, and ECVBA response to COVID-19.

What is the COVID-19?

Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is a respiratory illness that can spread from person to person. The virus that causes COVID-19 is a novel coronavirus that was first identified during an investigation into an outbreak in Wuhan, China.

Prevention Practices

People can help protect themselves from respiratory illness with everyday preventive actions.

• Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
• Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with unwashed hands.
• Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
• Use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.

ECVBA Response to COVID-19

We are aware of the current news and updates on the Coronavirus Disease. Please read below on important information from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC):

  • If you (as a parent, coach, player, etc.) are sick, stay home.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after going to the bathroom; before eating; and after blowing your nose, coughing, or sneezing.
    • If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.

That being said, we will have hand sanitizer readily available at all courts. If you are sick, please stay home. In an effort to minimize contact, we ask no teams high-five, handshake, or have hand to hand contact during pre and/or post game (Per SCVA/USAV direction). We will also make an effort to clean all volleyballs between practices.
